Happy March! March 1st brings the end of the arrival quarantine for those of you enrolled in-residence (on/off-campus) in New Haven – Yay!! I’m excited to grab an iced coffee (I’ll pre-order to make it quick) on Wednesday after our weekly family COVID test! We visit my parents every other weekend, and Sahej goes to daycare, but other than that, I’ve been waiting with you all. :)
I know that things have been picking up with exams/psets/papers/projects. Hang in there! I’m here if you want to talk through anything. Leah’s availability also appears below.
Next up, housing! Everyone (except current seniors) should have received Dean Chun’s message about housing for next year. For today, I have two items for you. The annual medical housing accommodations approval deadline is Monday, March 8th. If you have not yet applied for a new accommodation or want to renew your current accommodation, please contact Student Accessibility Services as soon as possible. If you are seeking medical housing accommodations, please send us an e-mail, so that we can keep this in mind as we configure housing options.

Yale Degree Audit: Yale Degree Audit (YDA) is a tool that tracks your progress toward the bachelor’s degree. YDA is located on the Academics tab of Student Information System (SIS). YDA displays the Yale College degree requirements that you have already completed and those that are still pending. A “Look Ahead” feature shows you how future course enrollment might apply toward your degree. If you believe that academic information in your degree audit is incorrect, contact our office.

Trumbull Writing Tutor: Adam Sexton is the Trumbull College Writing Tutor. Adam teaches three courses in the English department (“Reading and Writing the Modern Essay,” "Writing About Music," and “Reading Fiction for Craft”) and is a Critic in the graduate School of Art. Adam is also a writer; his next book, "Difficult Listening," is due to be published in 2021.

YALE SUMMER SESSION
Earn credit in over 200 courses from Yale Summer Session in 2021. Apply by May 14 for Session A courses and June 18 for Session B courses. Financial assistance is available to qualifying students.
APPROACHING APPLICATION DEADLINES
Summer Experience Award (formerly known as the Domestic Summer Award)
Enhancements have been made to the former DSA. Review the changes on the Office of Career Strategy website and check out the Frequently Asked Questions. The application for the Summer Experience Award (SEA) is in Yale Career Link and the deadline to apply is May 1, 2021. Important updates include:
Eligible students may use the SEA for their choice of an internship, research experience or arts apprenticeship in the U.S. or abroad.
If the experience is in the U.S., the award will be $4,000. If the experience is outside the U.S., the award will be $6,000.
The SEA is the former DSA, therefore students who have previously used their DSA are not eligible.

The Woodbridge Fellowship is a full-time paid position in the offices of university leader, offering an introduction to the work and administration of Yale. It provides valuable professional experience, particularly for students belonging to minority communities currently underrepresented in university administration.

2021 Summer Research Opportunities for Yale College Students
There are over 45 research opportunities presented by Yale faculty who are looking for student interns to work on projects including AIDS, biostatistics, communication, cancer, COVID-19, education, environmental or global health, epidemiology, grant writing, information systems, mental health, social & behavioral sciences, safe sports, trauma, and so much more with faculty from Yale School of Management, Yale School of Public Health, and professionals from several non-profits!

Yale-China is offering a Yale-China Fellowship award to teach for two years in Hong Kong after graduation. The application deadline is March 15th. More information can be found here: www.yalechina.org/ycf

The Urban Resources Initiative (URI) is looking to fill several remote GreenSkills Supervisor positions for an internship offered to students from Common Ground High School and The Sound School beginning mid-March through May of 2021. The role of the GreenSkills Supervisor would be to supervise and offer guidance to a group of 3-4 high school students as they craft an environmental or social justice initiative, such as a social media campaign.
This position offers Yale students a great opportunity to engage with the local community, work on lesson planning and team management skills, and build leadership experience in the nonprofit sector. A full job description can be found here.

Two networks are being launched for students interested in working in Latin American & Iberian Studies and on European Studies. These networks are being launched under the auspices of the Council on Latin American & Iberian Studies and the European Studies Council, respectively.
