TrumBulletin 10-20-23

October 23, 2023

Greetings Trumbullians!

Wherever you may be, I hope that you are safe and recuperating after midterms. Trumbull College feels very different with so many Trumbullians away. Importantly, I am informed that ongoing repairs affecting Entryways A-H and the HoC Office suite are to be completed by this weekend.

Last Saturday afternoon the Hiking Trip to East Rock Park was canceled due to bad weather. But we had a great turnout for the Sunday afternoon Apple Picking at Norton Brothers. Also, on Sunday afternoon there was also a bracelet making event at the Common Room, courtesy of the Chaplain’s Office. Last weekend, there were well attended musical (Sophie Dvorak as Musical Director for Disguise: A Night of Scenes) and theatrical (Samantha Fisher as Playwright & Director and Madeleine Loewen and Alex Shadman as actors for Desert Island / Girls Who Golf) events. There are more artistic events happening in late October and early November. By late October, there is 10:59 by Yale Artists Cabaret (Oct 27) with Trumbull’s own Katia George as the choreographer and many Trumbull performers: Sarah Feng, Jordi Bertrán Ramírez, Megan Ruoro, Maxwell Brown. By early November there is Hamlet (Nov 2-4) featuring many Trumbull performers, Phil Schneider (as Hamlet), Leo Egger (as Polonius), Meridian Monthy (as Horatio), Logan Ledman (as Marcellus).

Below is the continuing list of events coming up. Since timing of specific events are subject to change, please be on the lookout for emails regarding each event and please note some are by reservation and/or invitation. Please write to me if you would like to feature an event, across all disciplines and crafts, in which you are participating and/or your most recent achievements.

I have met with some of you to provide support, as much as I can provide, as we are all being impacted with various worldwide conflicts. However, there are many resources like Yale College Community Care (YC3) or the Yale Chaplain’s Office should you need specific support.

Please note that I will be away the entirety of October 30th week. But I am always reachable by email. However, I will miss Halloween celebrations. I hope you will practice good judgement during these festivities. Be safe! Moo-Rah!

Sincerely,
Head Hyder
