For Trumbull Seniors Only:
The Trumbull College Mellon Forum provides seniors who are doing senior projects or writing senior essays with opportunities to share their work with each other in an intellectually stimulating and congenial setting. It is competitive to get into the Forum, but those accepted tend to really appreciate the experience!
I would like to invite you to the introductory meeting of the Forum, which will be held on Tuesday, September 11th at 9:00 PM in the Fellows’ Lounge (entryway K, 2nd floor). After coffee and refreshments, you will have a chance to learn about the Mellon Forum. The Forum will meet in the TC house for a catered dinner approximately about once a month on Monday evenings, starting at 6:00, throughout the school year (you need not apply if you have regular commitments on Monday nights and could not attend; you must be present for all meetings if accepted). After dinner, three seniors will present their projects in 10-minute talks, and there is typically a lively question-and-answer period after each presentation. Past participants have expressed that they greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn about the academic interests of their fellow seniors in an intimate social setting.
Interested seniors are invited to apply for a place in the Mellon Forum by filling out and submitting the form that will be available at the introductory meeting on Tuesday and afterwards at the TC office. Those students accepted into the program are expected to attend all its meetings.
On Tuesday night at the information session, we will discuss in more detail how the forum will be organized this year, and I can answer any questions you might have. If you would like to attend, please reply by NOON on Tuesday, September 11, by e-mailing email@example.com.
Hoping to see you on Tuesday night!
