If we have to cancel for low enrollment, or there are last minute no shows after you have signed up, it affects future programming of similar events. I ask that if you sign up for events or trips but then discover that you are unable to attend, I expect you to let us know promptly so another student can take your spot.

Eric Jimenez, Teacher and Program Coordinator for Squash Haven (an organization that teaches New Haven middle and high school students how to play squash while providing them with academic enrichment programming to achieve postsecondary school success) writes that as a part of their academic programming, they partner with the New Haven Tutoring Initiative to provide middle schoolers with two hours of math tutoring once a week on Fridays, and they invite college students and local community members to volunteer as tutors. Squash Haven is located right on Broadway, and no squash experience is required. Their volunteers work consistently over the course of a semester with the same one or two kids, with all the needed tutoring materials provided for them. They would love to have Trumbull students as volunteers, and if you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please fill out this Google Form or reach out to Eric Jimenez for more information.
We hope you have been enjoying the Trumbuttery refresh with new furniture, paint and lighting. Thank you to Deb Bellmore and Anita Sharif-Hyder for spearheading the update! Next up is a refresh of our Trumbull Library, thanks to the efforts of Resident Fellow Sam Byrd and Anita Sharif-Hyder plus our library aides. Please be mindful of the books in the library that might be stacked in corners as we begin to sort and catalog.
Periodically, I would like to share some of your personal adventures and experiences. So please simply write to me or we can discuss it in-person so I may share it with our Trumbull community.
Sincerely, MOO-RAH!
Fahmeed Hyder, HoC Trumbull
