I sincerely hope that your midterms are going well. Amidst this busy academic period there was our civic duty of voting in the US Presidential Election. With the election results settled, it is time to set aside differences and move onto our pursuits which contribute to improving our lives around the world, no matter where we come from and where we are going. If you are facing anxiety about the election or related matters, I welcome you to share your thoughts with me, either individually or in small groups.

In the meantime, Trumbull College activities remain active. On Sunday (11/3) we had Grad Affiliate Shah Khan [JD 2027] led many Trumbullians to the Escape Room in New Haven. On Monday (11/4) many seniors presented their senior projects after dinner at the HoC House through the Mellon Forum. From Tuesday to Thursday (11/5-11/7), Dean Surjit Chandhoke and I enjoyed some smores and other goodies at the HoC House with First Years and their amazing FroCos during casual Fireside Chats.

Below is the continuing list of events coming up. Since timing of specific events are subject to change, please be on the lookout for emails regarding each event and please note some are by reservation and/or invitation. Please write to me if you would like to feature an event, across all disciplines and crafts, in which you are participating and/or your most recent achievements.

The Yale-China Fellowship is a unique opportunity for Yale graduates to spend two years teaching English language or writing in mainland China or Hong Kong. This fellowship is a transformative two years for both the Yale-China Fellows and the Chinese students and community members they interact with. Select Yale graduates are chosen to spend two years teaching in China, where they not only become familiar with China but also make it their home. During this time, Fellows gain an in-depth understanding of themselves, China, and Chinese language and culture, while building important professional skills and networks for future careers in various fields. There will be several information sessions (all at 442 Temple St; here is the RSVP email):

·     November 7 (12pm)

·     November 13 (4-6pm) Informational Teahouse with Former Fellows

·     November 19 (12 pm)

The early application deadline is December 2nd, 2024, and the final application deadline is March 24th, 2025.

Dean of Yale College Pericles Lewis and Chair of the Council of Heads of College and Head Catherine Panter-Brick would like to invite you to attend the Yale College Thanksgiving Dinner at the Omni Hotel on Thursday, November 28th, from 12-2pm.
