Hello Trumbullians!

Several fun things this weekend. With leadership of George Lan ‘24 and Mary He ‘24, both seniors, there will be a Lunar New Year event at the Buttery and Student Kitchen on Saturday, February 10th (3-6pm). Come and enjoy great food and company to celebrate a festive and cultural occasion. The city of New Haven will team with the Yale-China Association to celebrate the Year of the Dragon later in the month.

On Sunday, February 11th there will be two events. In the morning (8:30-11:30am) there is the IRIS run and then in the evening (6:30-10pm) there is the Superbowl Party organized by the Trumbull College Council in the Dining Hall.

In honor of National Women Inventors Month, this month brings some wonderful awareness to celebrate incredible women and girls. Do you use windshield wipers, have a home security system, or ever used the fungicide Nystatin? These are just a few of the everyday ways women inventors have improved the human quality of life with their inventions. You can learn more about the history of women inventors here, and some of the women who changed the world with their inventions here. The International Day of Women & Girls in Science on Sunday, February 11th can be celebrated with the women and girls in your life by promoting engagement in science and the natural world around us.

Hey Seniors, the Class Day - a major part of Commencement - is ahead! The Yale-China Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for Yale graduates to spend two years teaching English language or writing in mainland China or Hong Kong. It is a transformative two years for both the Yale-China Fellows and the Chinese students and community members they interact with. To learn more and apply here or email education@yalechina.org or email leslie.stone@yale.edu (application deadline Tuesday, March 5th).

This semester Yale College Community Care (YC³) is trying new things. Briefly, they are Intro to Mindfulness: Fridays (until February 16th) 1pm-2pm, at the Good Life Center lounge in YSC. Tired of Being Tired? Wellness Wednesday: Wednesdays (January 31st onward) 2-4pm, at the Good Life Center in Schwarzman.
