With an earthquake and an eclipse behind us, let’s embrace all that comes our way for the rest of the spring semester.
On celebration of Eid ul Fitr, there was an Open House at the HoC House this past Wednesday. We were graced by presence of many Trumbullians and other Yale students, as well as several Yale dignitaries. Also, I hope you enjoyed some new dinner items at the dining hall in celebration of Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr.
From now until the end of the term, please be on the lookout for many CPA exhibits by Trumbullians, both on Trumbull grounds as well as elsewhere around campus.
Saturday, April 13th: There is still some time for Camp Kesem’s 5K run on Saturday at 10am on the Farmington Canal Trail. Please use this google form to sign up or contact Deb Bellmore asap.
Sunday, April 14th: The HAVEN Free Clinic is currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 HAVEN Board. All Director positions will begin in May 2024. You can apply to join the HAVEN Board here. The deadline for submitting the application is Sunday at 11:59 pm. There will be a mandatory training retreat on Sunday, May 5 from 10am-2pm. If you are unable to attend, you are not eligible to apply to the Board this term.
The Yale Alumni Association is looking for Reunion Clerks to work the 2024 Yale College Reunion weekends! The job is live in SEO, and you can view the posting and apply here. This position offers a great opportunity to network with Yale alumni, staff, and students. This is a paid position, and Reunion Clerks are eligible for perks such as post-term housing (May 10-June 3), meal stipends, and Yale College Reunion swag! If you have any questions, feel free to contact the YAA Reunions Team.
As we enter the second half of the spring semester, we must think about moving out and storing our stuff. Residential colleges will close to all students on May 9th at pm. All students, except for graduating seniors, must completely vacate campus by this time. To ensure that you are prepared for move out, make sure to pack before move-out day and plan to take all your belongings with you. On-campus storage is not available. You can find additional information on the storage section of the Housing website, including:
- readiness & planning information
- storage & shipping options, including the information about the university’s two vetted vendors, Dorm Room Movers and Bulldog Beds, which provide full-service storage
- eligibility & details on support for high-need students
Students eligible for storage support will receive a separate email with additional information by April 11th.
Trumbull is currently ranked 4th for the Tyng Cup (the overall IMs champions trophy). There are three sports you can join: volleyball, indoor soccer, and netball. Please reach out to either George Lan ‘24 or Lael Joseph ‘25 or Victoria DeMersseman ‘25 for details.
At this stage of spring semester, everything speeds up - so it’s important to pace yourselves, work hard but rest easy. Every Monday in April (till April 22nd @ 1 – 1:30pm) the Good Life Center lounge in the YSC hosts Mindfulness Monday, which is a new YC3 program that explores meditation skills that can help benefit the body and mind; while being effective for stress management solutions.
Moo-Rah!
Sincerely,
Head Hyder
