TrumBulletin Welcome, new Trumbullians! This is a special TrumBulletin just for you! As the Class of 2029, you are the first to arrive on campus, and by next weekend, your upper-level peers will also return. I am Head of Trumbull College (HoC) Fahmeed Hyder, and with our Dean of Trumbull College Surjit Chandhoke (the best residential college Dean!), we are excited to have you on campus, and we hope that your Moove-In goes smoothly this weekend. I will be there for the Moove-In, so I hope to meet some of you in-person. Let’s hope for some dry weather for an easy move-in. I want to share some advanced thanks to many important people you will soon begin to appreciate, starting from the move-in weekend. Specifically, I thank Deb Bellmore, Reese McLeod, Karen Eisenman, Alice Kustenbauder, Dina Francesca Haynes, Samuel Byrd, Gurbakhshash Singh, Anita Sharif-Hyder, our experienced and generous FroCo Team, and our magnificent Student Aides for help with Moove-In. In addition, Kory Evasick, leading the TC Dining Hall Team, and May Cabahug, leading the TC Facilities Team, are essential reasons for your smooth move-in and comfort. This is your Trumbull Village! Since you are probably inundated with a flurry of informational emails from Yale, I will try to keep this note simple. I have listed a few reminders of events/activities coming up in the next few days. I am sure you are already aware of them, but please do ask if you have any questions.
Aug 17th, 9 am-1 pm Trumbull Open for Move-in of First Year Students In the weeks to come, you will learn about many other events and activities, e.g., intramurals, Teas, season-inspired excursions (sailing, submarine tour, apple picking, just to name a few). A part of my responsibility as HoC is to promote intellectual life. While we already have lined up some exciting speakers, please suggest a speaker (inside or outside Yale), or an activity. Please write to me. Once again, welcome new Trumbullians! Our motto is “Fortuna Favet Audaci” which translates to “Fortune favors the brave” and it is on our banner in our Dining Hall. Please note that the TC Courtyard has new sodded grass, and hence foot traffic is prohibited until early September. Moo-Rah! Sincerely, |
