Dean’s Notes 4-1-24

April 1, 2024

TRUMBULL COLLEGE DEAN’S NOTES: April 1, 2024
Hope you all got outside over the weekend – it was so beautiful yesterday!  It’s probably going to rain quite a bit this week, but then everything will be that beautiful shade of green that I truly love at this time of year.

I know many of you are in the midst of another wave of midterms – it’s a busy time and I hope you are all hanging in there.  Seniors – you are on my mind in particular!  Some of you have/had a big thesis deadline today and others will have one in two weeks (and throughout this month).  Sleep is incredibly important – always – but particularly now.  Hang in there – you got this!!  And please know that I’m here.

I want to give a little plug here for our bulletin board, which is to your left as you enter the main Trumbull gate (first panel on the left).  Alice has steadily kept this board updated throughout the year with info specific to our office (thank you, Alice!).  Please take a quick glance each week – we often have little blurbs at the end of Dean’s Notes with varied advertisements from departments, fellowships, jobs, etc, but if there’s a poster, we put it up on the bulletin board!  Alice also prints a short version of DNs each week (“greatest hits”!!). Check it out. :)

Believe it or not, it’s also time to think ahead to the fall term. Today, Preference Selection opened up, so please check that out if it’s pertinent to your course selection for the fall term.  It’s also a good time to start looking at syllabi in Canvas!  I still need to get my syllabus up, and I know that my faculty colleagues are slowly getting theirs up, too. It’s good to take a look at the registration timeline, particularly for limited-enrollment courses, where some information might be department-specific.

Have a wonderful week!
