Trumbull Notes

TrumBulletin 9-5-17

I’ll usually send out the TrumBulletin on Monday, but due to Labor Day, it’s Tuesday this time.

I hope all enjoyed our long weekend, especially the lovely weather yesterday for Labor Day.

Here’s hoping we can enjoy the weather for a bit longer.

I hate to see summer end but also look forward to the fall.

(I’m sending this out at 9:30 p.m. We have half a chocolate cake and half a Claire’s coffee cake from today’s reception for our fellows who serve as first year advisers. Rocky Mt. Candy Company also sent some Carmel Apples today as samples to each Head of College. I’m taking these items to the Buttery after I send this out. Help yourself.)

To all Trumbullians celebrating Passover, I wish you a happy Passover and the best for enjoying wonderful seders and traditions whether you are home this evening with family members, heading to the Slifka Center or celebrating with friends elsewhere.  Enjoy and revel in the beautiful spring day we have to kick Passover off.

We’re finally experiencing spring.  The weather will get better from here through the end of the semester.  All outdoor furniture will reappear in our courtyard.  Planning for our Pamplona festival is underway. Use our courtyard!  Know that we have a volleyball net (and volley ball).  If you want to play, let us know and we’ll set it up.  If you want the corn hole games out, we can do that too.  If you have other ideas for simple events in the courtyard or equipment, let us know.

March arrives this week. (How did that happen?)  We’re well into mid-term season now. Get sleep and exercise and eat well as many exams occur over these next two weeks. Keep in mind that spring break (and spring itself) will arrive very soon.  You’ll be able to collapse and relax then.

The semester is now well underway. Schedules are set. I hope you are all happy with your classes.  I also hope that most of you have evaded the flu.  (It is clearly around us.  Be careful, wash hands often, get rest and drink plenty of fluids if you get it.  You can still get a flu shot if you have not already done so.  If you have had the flu or get it, you have my sympathy.)
